Villarreal’s relegation to Segunda Division has provided many clubs including Marseille an opportunity to sign players who crave for top level football.

Olympique de Marseille endured a woeful season in Ligue 1. Didier Deschamps needs to strengthen his squad before the start of next campaign. However, financial troubles at the club mean that the Frenchman won’t be able to buy players at his will.

The future of Les Phoceens’ current centre back, Nicolas N'Koulou is pretty uncertain. The speculations of N’Koulou leaving the Rhone giants have put the coach in a fix. Frenchman knows that he has to rebuild his squad before the start of next season.

Nicolas N'Koulou is uncertain about his future at the Velodrome amidst interest from Barcelona.

“Right now, I am focusing on my game. I do not know where I'll be next year. I need some time to think about my future.”

Villarreal’s relegation has provided Marseille with an opportunity to sign their players on relatively cheap price. Didier Deschamps has always been a great admirer of Villarreal’s centre back, Gonzalo Rodriguez. The 28 year old Argentine international’s
departure is certain as the defender has voiced his desire to play at the top level.

According to Spanish media, Rodriguez is on his way out for sure. Marseille are monitoring the defender’s situation at the club. Villarreal are expecting at least five million Euros for the Argentinean. Olympique de Marseille are in heaps of financial trouble.
However, with the likely sales of their star players Loic Remy and Nicolas N'Koulou, the arrival of Rodriguez seems to be more than just a speculation.

Marseille are likely to lose their star strikers, Loic Remy and Andre Ayew because of the financial situation at the club. The Rhone giants are in dire need of a new strike force. However, no good striker will come cheap as Les Phoceens are unable to spend
big. Relegated Villarreal on the other hand, provided Les Phoceens the perfect opportunity.

The likes of Nilmar and Italy international, Giuseppe Rossi are rumored to be on their way out of Villarreal. Marseille are keeping a close eye on both players and hope to sign them for cheap. Even though Rossi has assured Villarreal supporters that he will
stay at the club, the opportunity to play in France, at the top level would be hard to resist for the former Manchester United man.
