Olympique de Marseille willing to keep hold of Lucho Gonzalez – Report
Argentine international, Lucho Gonzalez has been linked with a move away from Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille for a long time. Since the transfer window, many clubs have been linked with moves for the Argentine.
However, due to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/River-Plate-c40368
man but Marseille’s initial valuation made things tough for Gonzalez’s suitors.
Terribly disappointing last season, Lucho Gonzalez has begun the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 season with a high-flying performance against Sochaux Montbéliard this Saturday. Though Les Phoceens drew 2-2 against Les Lionceaux, Lucho Gonzalez was the best player on
the pitch for Marseille.
Lucho has clearly stated that he wants to leave the club but it seems that the Argentine international’s performances say otherwise. With Lucho playing at this level, Les Phoceens have no interest in letting him go at a low price.
Reports suggest that though Marseille had lowered their valuation of Gonzalez to eight million Euros, the Rhone giants are no more willing to soften their stance on their valuation for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 man. Furthermore, Lucho Gonzalez has formed a great
partnership with Loic Remy.
The recent rise in prominence of Lucho Gonzalez means that coach Didier Deschamps might also be tempted to keep hold of the player he signed in the summer of 2009 for 18 million Euros from FC Porto.
Most of Lucho Gonzalez’s teammates want El Comandante to stay at the Stade Velodrome even though the Argentine is keen on leaving the Rhone province this summer. Italian Serie A giants AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 are also keen on signing the midfielder but it seems that Marseille
will no longer be willing to let him go for only eight million Euros especially after the player’s recent performances.
Last summer, Les Phoceens lost http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Niang-c23292 on the last day of the summer transfer window and were not able to bring in a replacement. The club should avoid having the same scenario occur once again and should consider keeping hold of the 30-year-old who
can be a very important player for Marseille this season.
