While talking to RMC following his sides Coupe de La Ligue win over Caen, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 midfielder Morgan Amalfitano spoke about his recent return to form and also spoke about his chances of playing for France
Tuesday night, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153 last summer and after a slow start to life with Phoceens, the 26-year-old has returned to his true self.
While talking to RMC in the aftermath of his side’s win, Amalfitano said that his side was better equipped than before in the game against Caen and also said that the whole team understood the importance of progressing to the next round.
Amalfitano made a slow start to life at the Stade Velodrome and his performances led him to be confined to a mere peripheral role at the club. However, the last two months of 2011 saw Amalfitano show the form that made him such a big player at Lorient last
season.
The Frenchman however, is looking to keep on improving,
“I take more pleasure and that I’m satisfied. I was disappointed not to play early in the season. But I made it. I had to show myself a bit more and I think I’ve done that,” said Amalfitano who will have a chance of showing himself even more when the African
contingent at Marseille leaves for the African Cup of Nations. The native of Nice is now looking to perform an integral role in Didier Deschamps side that is aiming to win titles and is also looking to use it as a platform to earn a France call-up.
With European Championships on the horizon, Amalfitano is keen on making his mark for Les Bleus.
“Of course I think about Euro. When you arrive in Marseille, it makes sense,” said Amalfitano.
Already, Amalfitano has been pre-selected by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 manager Laurent Blanc and consistent performances in the second half of the campaign would play a key role in forcing Blanc to take the former Lorient man with him to the plane that takes the French national
team to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 this summer.
