Olympus FE - 310/X-840/C-530?

Question

just got a new digital camera...it came with two AA batteries and it says battery empty already when i try to turn it on. Also when i plug the USB cable into it it should charge or at least power up so i can view my photos but it doesn't it just says batter empty again....how do i charge it and why did the batteries only last for about an hour?...thanks

the batteries that came with it are almost useless, will only take a couple of pictures then die. you'll need to either get rechargeable ni/mh batteries (2300 mah or higher) or get lithium aa batteries. rechargeables will be cheaper in long run.  the usb canble will NOT recharge the batteries, it's only use is to transfer pictures from camera to computer. if you do get rechargeable batteries, you will also have to get a charger for thosebatteries, often big stores sell charger WITH batteries included for not much more money than just the cost of batteries alone...best wishes.
