Question:

Olympus camera batteries

ok well at the beginning of the year i bought a new camera (olympus FE-220) and it came with a rechargeable battery and its charger and it worked fine, but then i went on a school trip and i left my charger in the hotel room so when i came back home my brother bought me a Olympus battery from eBay. the battery was a completely different type and the charger was completely different and before i realized he had bought me it he had already put the new battery to work on my camera and it worked for the first 3 or 4 days but then one day when i tried turning it on it wouldn't and im pretty sure because of the battery issue. Because i never dropped my camera and it was working fine until the different type of battery put into it.

so now basically my question is what do i do?

this was my 1st camera that i paid for and i don't exactly have the money to get it fixed or buy a new one and my brother doesn't feel like taking the blame.

by the way these are the battery types:

came with my camera LI-42B

ordered online Li-40B

and its specifically says only for lithium ion battery

thanks for all your help

and sorry i didn't make complete sentences i am in a hurry ok thanks again

  1. It sounds like your brother bought you a generic LI-40B and charger. This isn't a problem though it may explain the different charger. The LI-40B is very similar to the LI-42B. I think both have the same voltage (3.7V) -- as long as this is true, the contacts are spaced the same distance apart, the battery is the same size and shape, and the polarity of the contacts remain the same then both batteries should work with your FE-220.

Have you charged the battery in question before trying it recently? Do either of the batteries work?
