http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Colorado-Rapids-c38849 striker and designated player, Omar Cummings, was left in surprise over his call for the Major League Soccer All-Stars squad. The MLS All-Stars are scheduled to play against the English champions, Manchester United, on Wednesday, July 27
at Red Bull Arena, New Jersey.
The player has expressed that his performances in the current season have not been up to the level that won the Rapids their first MLS Cup last season.
“A little bit, I was,” Cummings told the media after All-Star practice on Monday. “Being out for the past year, I think I was [surprised]. Last year I would have expected it but this year, no.”
The Jamaican striker picked up an ankle sprain in May against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Houston-Dynamo-c39542. The injury kept him from sporting the Reggae Boyz’s number 10 jersey in international friendlies and CONCACAF Gold Cup.
According to the player, he is not fully equipped to be included in the All-Stars lineup. Although Cummings has recovered from the injury, he is yet to reach peak fitness.
“I’m still doing fitness, adding fitness,” the player pressed on the level of his health. I still haven’t scored a goal since I’ve been back. The forward line has been up and down. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Conor-Casey-c9414 is out for a little while now. We still have to see how that

Conor Casey twisted his ankle at Seattle Sounders two weeks ago and will be sidelined for the rest of the season. The Rapids need to get back to scoring ways and Cummings’ return to health is eagerly awaited.

Cummings’ exploits last year brought him on the radar of several international clubs including Aston Villa. The English Premier League outfit even launched a bid to land him at the Villa Park but the offer was turned down. Following the Villans’ failed attempt,

Should the player appear in the MLS All-Star game this week, chances are that he will again be pursued. However, the player is not interested in moving abroad. His first priority is to return to fitness and fill in the void left by Casey.
