Omar Pinzon impresses in Tokyo: 2011 FINA World Cup Series
Pan American medallist, Omar Pinzon of Colombia rose to the expectations of his followers during the penultimate evening session of the 2011 FINA World Cup Series, in Japan, on Sunday, November 13. Pinzon went on to win Men’s 200m back-stroke title over
his rivals.
The race began in thrilling fashion, as Colombian athlete, Omar Pinzon did not lose his furious speed to show great consistency throughout the splash. Consequently, Pinzon surpassed his challengers by clicking the finishing divider in a scintillating time
of 1 minute and 51.15 seconds to clinch the Men’s 200m back-stroke crown of the platform. Omar was the silver medallist in the respective race at the 2011 Pan American editions, in Guadalajara.
After the end of the race, Omar Pinzon’s rivals including Kazuki Watanabe of Japan and Yuki Shirai of Japan claimed silver and bronze medals by thumping the finishing barrier in a winning blot of 1 minute and 51.51 seconds and 1 minute and 51.98 seconds,
respectively. Additionally, the fourth spot in the meet was claimed by Japan’s Takahiro Yamazaki in a time of 1 minute and 53.51 seconds.
Meanwhile, Takeshi Kawamoto of Japan rose to the expectations of his admirers by thrashing the finishing mark in a time of 1 minute and 53.69 seconds to earn fifth place honours in the respective splash. Moreover, the swim of Japan’s Takashi Nakano was really
appreciating in the pool, as Nakano progressed to earn sixth place honours by striking the finishing blockade in a mark of 1 minute and 54.10 seconds.
Furthermore, Jan-Philip Glania of Germany secured seventh position in the respective race by banging the finishing fence in a time of 1 minute and 56.11 seconds. In addition, Japan’s Masaki Kaneko settled at eighth spot after he ended his swim in a time
of 1 minute and 56.48 seconds.
