Question:

Omc vro 2 pump can the oil side just be not used, or is there a kit to plug the oil side?

  1. why would you need to do that? you can plug as other said but it is hard on the pump. what is the reason? you can cause pump failure and other problems. that looper runs beautifully with that system. you will most likely end up with idle quality issues.


  2. just plug it up with a piece of fuel hose stuffed with a stainless s***w and hose clamp, also unplug the sensor wires coming from it..and do not forget to mix oil with your fuel, and you will be fine

The best way to do this is to go to a dealer and buy the parts to disable the oil injection side.  These include a plug for the oil inlet and a cap for the oil tank plug.  Unplug the tank and the oil sensor and plug up the oil inlet part of the pump and you are done.  You must now mix a good TCW-3 oil with the gas.  I recommend Johnson/Evinrude XD50 oil.

    If this procedure was bad for the VRO, Bombardier (formerly OMC) would not sell the parts to do this.  I have performed this procedure several times for customers with no failures.
