Omega DLC becomes available for Mass Effect 3
Fans of the Mass Effect franchise have been eagerly waiting for the Omega DLC to come out for quite some time now.
The wait has finally come to an end as the highly-anticipated single-player expansion for Mass Effect 3 hit Xbox Live, PC and PlayStation Network.
Teased as a DLC twice as big as the biggest DLC that the studio has released for the third title in the sci-fi third-person shooter role-playing game, the Omega DLC weighs a staggering 2GB, thus proving the claims made by BioWare a few weeks back to be true.
The latest expansion pack for Mass Effect 3 can be purchased for either 1,200 Microsoft Points for $14.99
Omega DLC will find the galactic adventures of Commander Shepard continuing despite the main story coming to an end, something that most of the fans of the franchise will not liked to be reminded of.
Commander Shepard has teamed up with Aria T’loak and a third mysterious female Turian character to take on the Cerberus agent Oleg Petrovsky and his squadron, who have taken over Omega, a space station that serves as a black market trade post.
Believing herself to be the rightful leader of the space station, T’loak has no intention of letting General Petrovsky enjoying the command of Omega and it is this plot that sets the tone for the latest mission of Commander Shepard.
"Forced to rely on Aria’s unique knowledge of the station and faced with her lust for revenge, how far will you go to retake Omega?" reads a line from the content's announcement.
The Omega DLC also introduces a few additional weapons and new characters to Mass Effect 3.
Despite confirming that it has already started working on the next title in the Mass Effect series, BioWare appears committed to keeping the experience offered by the third title in the franchise fresh through expansion packs.
BioWare developers are interacting with the fans of the Mass Effect brand to learn what the latter would like to see in the next game and it they want it to be a prequel or a sequel to the series.
The Omega DLC has not been released for Wii U.
