Omega European Masters Betting Preview Part 1
Every week has its own surprises and this time it is the Omega European Masters which is taking place at the Crans-sur-Sierre golf club in Switzerland.
This course is known for its devilish beauty and surroundings with Swiss alphs on all sides sending players into an illusion of being in paradise while the tournament on the other side is known for the enormity of winners who have emerged from there. The list includes Seve Ballesteros, Ernie Els and Sir Nick Faldo which indicates that even this time around there is something big in the bag.
Experts say that the strategy which can be applied here is to search for the greens and once you find them then nothing can stop a player from winning. This statement is well justified when looking at the stats of the last four winners who excelled in hitting the greens in regulation. Alex Noren and Bradley Dredge hold the 1st spot in this context whereas Jean-Francois Lucquin holds the second.
Let’s start with the betting preview of the top 1 player:
Bradley Dredge
As mentioned earlier, this player from Wales is well known for his greens in regulation and once he comes to Crans-sur-Sierre, it won’t take him long to dig out his irons and then fire shots to the greens. In 2006, Dredge was ranked as the top third for his greens but on his way up he gradually lost the charm and by 2007 he was standing at the sixth place. However, the 37-year-old finished with a 65 in 2009 hence rating himself at the thirty third place, according to the GIR rankings.
Meanwhile, it seems as if this course has exclusively been made for Dredge and it looks like a two way love affair. The player’s last seven starting events of the season were on this course and surprisingly, he finished quite modestly in all of them. At one place, he won followed by a second, third, then a tie at the forth and lastly he had two top twenty finishes. With a record like this, he is surely a favorite for the bettors in the golf world.
Moreover, Dredge had seven top-twenty finishes this year while he missed eighteen cuts. Although, his ratio of missing the cuts is quite enormous as compared to his magnitude of victories but still it’s not that bad. Dredge has a dark side and that is him losing form or is it the quality of the new players which is raising the standards day by day?.
Even then, Dredge was a prominent name at the Johnnie walker championship last week, where he had top seventh finish but in a tie. Bradley recently told media that he was ready for a big triumph similar to that of 2006. Coming to his weapon of victory, Dredge has done a good job in putting which is evident from his superb performance at the Johnnie Walker championship where he stood at the eighth place in putts per greens.
Experts finally add that Bradley Dredge is the right full owner of this season’s victory at Omega European Masters as double digit scores are required now days to cross over and the score this welsh man recently touched is  sixteen under, which is not bad. He is superb in putting and also in greens which makes him the number one contender in our betting list.
