I'm 16 years old and I live in NJ. I think that my identity has been stolen. I think this because I went to my local bank to open a savings account without a parent just me ..... the lady said that all she has to do is call this place called chex systems and then I'm all set. So she got on the phone and called them and she denied me a account due to wat chex systems said. Soooooo I got a little worried and decided to check my credit ...... I found out that u have to be 18 TO CHECK UR CREDIT :( sooooo I decided to go to a different bank to open a savings account and was told that I already have a closed account with them with numberous bounced checks ..... I DON'T KNOW WAT IS GOING ON !!!!!! I never in my life had a savings or checking account NEVER ..... how can I check my credit .... ????? Is there any way that I can build up my credit without being 18 so when I turn 18 I have real good credit ..... IS THERE ANY WAY that I can get a new SSN # or something .... please please help ..... is there any credit card that I can get at my age to build my credit or is there any way I can freeze my ssn # or some thing ..... and if I do get a savings account at a different bank ..... can it be closed due to that I owe money .... please pleaseeeeeeeeee help !!!!

  1. call equifax, experian and transunion and explain the situation to them.  They will help you out.

To get their contact, google them.

Goodn luck and don't sweat it.

  2. You might want to ask your parents about this.

I hate to say it, but if your parents have had bad credit, they might have put a checking account in your name and abused it.

You might also want to go back down to the bank that had the bad account in your name and ask to see the account information, who signed for it, old checks, etc.

Contacting the credit bureaus will not do you much good since you have no credit and you are under 18.

Once you get the stuff from the bank and have spoken to your parents about this, that should give you an idea of where to go next.

If you need any further help, you can check my profile and email me directly.

    Good luck.
