  1. Spray some WD-40 on a paper towel and rub the spot. I used it this morning to do a similar job and it worked great. Be sure not to use too much and make sure you wipe the phone with a clean towel or rag afterward.

  2. Rubbing alcohol OR USE A RAZOR BLADE AND RUB IT AGAINST THE SURFACE

  3. Rubbing alcohol should work.  If not try nail polish remover.  The polish remover may take off the phone's paint so test on a small spot first, like behind the backing where there's paint the same as the outside of the phone.  Both of these are liquids, obviously, so you should be very careful!  Use a makeup pad but don't put so much that the liquid is dripping and may run into the phone.  I would use a qtip and take my time with it to be sure nothing got in the phone.  Do this while the phone is off.  If anything does get in (at this time or any other time) take out the battery and leave the backing off for a week, then put it back together and turn it on.

  4. The problem is that any solvent you use may leak into the phone and kill it. It might also damage the surface. An electronics store (i.e. Radio Shack) may carry an appropriate product.

  5. PEANUT BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!   U gotta work it in with your finger.

I know it's crazy, but it works.

  6. I would not use acetone or alcohol or any liquid cleaner.  You don't know what the surface is made of, eg, if it's plastic, you could do serious damage, if it's certain kinds of metal, you could get an ugly discoloration.

Use scotch tape.  Put the sticky side down on the spot, rub it with your fingernail or the side of a coin so it sticks really good, then pull it off relatively quickly.    If the gunk doesn't all come off the first time, do it again..  it may take a few tries but it will definitely work.

  7. Goo-Gone.  Use sparingly so that you don't get it in the electronics.  It usually works best if you give it a couple of minutes to dissolve the adhesive (5 minutes wait and one minute rubbing instead of vice-versa)
