  1. Just a little at a time, say Monday pick up all the things that live in a different room from the living room and move them back, Tuesday clean the bathroom, Wednesday clean the kitchen, Thursday buy some clear plastic boxes and go through the bottom of one wardrobe, put all you winter stuff away. Friday tidy up the other bedroom. Sat and sun relax with your partner then Monday do some more, after a few weeks it will get much better. Your child needs to learn to put things away too, and he will find it fun throwing teddies into boxes or doing some other things to help - start young! have fun (ps lots of good music helps too !)

  2. i would check out ikea- they have tons of storage solutions- find everything a home

  3. Depending on if you've got the money, you might want to invest in a professional organising service.  They come to your house, make a plan on how stuff should be organised, help you buy the correct things to organise in etc.

What's nice about them, is that they plan according to your needs-- so your house will have places for your stuff, and you'll feel in control.

Organizers are probably pretty expensive (I'd say maybe £20-£80 per hour) but if it works, it would be a great investment.

If you don't have the money, you might consider pairing up with another mother with a mess problem-- if you help each other clean, you'd feel a whole lot more encouraged.

Messiness can become overwhelming, and the more mess there is, the more difficult it is to begin anywhere.

Some level of cleanliness is important though, because otherwise you start missing out on life (your child can't invite friends over, you can't have parties, your child's development may be impaired etc.).

Now would be a good time for a clear-out because you can still instill good habits in your child.

Found this www-site (but don't know anything about them): http://www.apdo-uk.co.uk/

Don't be embarrassed to ask for help, unfortunately messiness usually only becomes worse with time, seldom better by itself.

  4. At least when everything is on the floor you can always find it.

Learn to live with the mess, waste of time tidyng up- everything only gets messy again.
