  1. The solar eclipse is on the first of August and if you live in the US, you won't see it. If you live in Halifax you would see it from 9:03 until 9:23 A.M., but the sun will only be 14% obscured. The best viewing in North America will be in St. Johns, N.B. and this will be from 8:43 until 9:24 A.M., but again, only about 20% obscurity, certainly not worth traveling there to see.

         Sorry, the times I gave you are UT, or Greenwich mean time. In the two areas I mentioned, the eclipse will already be in process at sunrise.
