On Flying: Gift for my bestfriend?

Question

Free spirited bestfriend is on late 20's.. birthday's coming up.

Very passionate about airplanes.

We don't get to talk or see each other sometimes.

I thought maybe like get a cool little airplane quality toy.. not the working kind just something you can take when you travel a lot.

I don't know much what's a cool airplane and what's not. Anyone here who loves to fly and maybe has an idea of what he would appreciate? Thanks very much :)

I also think an introductory flight is a good idea. It will leave an experience that will last a life time and who knows, maybe he might become a pilot.

Try:

www.beapilot.com or call the local airport and look for a flight school. They almost all offer some sort of intro flight.

OK-if he's already a pilot, try www.sportys.com; its an online pilot shop with lots of gifts and gadgets for pilots. Try their Wright Brothers catalog. Its filled with a lot of gifts/decorative items that pilots would like.

Does he wear a tie? You can buy miniature aircraft tie pins or lapel pins that are nice but not overstated. I used to wear one. Hope this helps.

A great gift would be a gift certificate for your friend's first lesson or introductory flight.  There's no replacement for the real thing.  Approximate cost $120.  Intro flights are less expensive.
