Since it's tuned differently than the 5th fret thing, if I were to play D string 3rd fret and G string 5th fret, would I play 4th or 6th fret B string to make it like Power Chords on A and E?

  1. leaning where the notes are and the names of the notes on the fretboard will help you ..  a power chord is only 2 notes. the root note and the 5th of that note....  example fret 5 string 6.. fret 7 string 5.. A power chord... fret 5 string 5 and fret 7 string 4... D power chord... now learning where the notes are will help you to know where the other chords are on your guitar...  look at www.all-guitar-chords.com

  3. You would want to play the 6th fret on the B string. Since the B and high E strings aren't tuned using the standard "5th fret" tuning method, it turns out they are one half step higher.
