On Itunes, my ipod's memory is mosty used up by 'other' i have not downloaded anythin so what does this mean?

  1. Open your iPod in My Computer, or the Finder if you are using OS X and see if you have put any files on there.  


  2. has it been jailbroken? as this is common issue.

    try restore but without backing up the ipod.


  3. sometimes other can be games or extra add ons to your ipod  

  4. do you use iTunes to put all your music on your iPod or do you just copy it directly cause if so, that's what 'other' is, iTunes puts the music into special folders so that the iPod can recognise it correctly
