  1. My 9 year old son has solved all of these LEGO Star Wars games (1 &2 for PS2 and Complete Saga on his PS3). He says  that it does happen sometimes but if the computer can make that leap, then there is ALWAYS a way in which you can get across too.

Sometimes you have to use the force to move something in order to jump on that 1st.

Sometimes you need to build some bouncing blocks.

Sometimes you have to change your character to a double jump guy or use a droid to fly.

Sometimes, you can't get over it until you finish the level and play it again on Free Play in order to choose the better jumpers.

**** My son read somewhere that the computer does this (makes an impossible jump) so that you know that it is a "playable area". Otherwise you would just assume you couldn't get there & not come back. In the cases where it happens at a place that you HAVE to go in order to solve the level, the computer is just doing it so you don't have to keep switching characters to get him over too (makes it easier for you). *****

  2. For some reason only the computer can do that i've tried to do that millions of times but it never works.
