On MSN if you block someone...do they know?

if i didn't want them to know i had blocked them?? would i just appear offline or would they know?

With other IM clients (Pidgin for example) you can see if other MSN accounts have you on their contact list and if they have blocked you.

So it's technically possible to know if someone blocked you if you already have them on your contact list and are using a client that enables them to see it.

Otherwise it would be pointless to implement that kind of feature :)

No they wouldn't know at first, you'll just be offline on their contact list all the time. However, eventually they might question why you aren't on at all! But if you make a decent excuse, they will never know unless you tell them!

I suggest you say something like your computer is broken, or msn has mucked up, or your address has become inactive and you don't know why.

No, they don't know if you blocked them. Blocking them just makes them think you're offline.

on allowed list right hand click on any name: if delete is active it means they deleted you
