On Madden 09 why arent you able to challenge plays??

I was playing Madden 09 today, and my guy got a side line catch but they didn't count it, so i paused the game and looked everywhere but i couldn't find the "Challenge button" Whats up with that?

Hey you can challange plays. its just has to be something the game think is worth challanging. in a case where it is a question you have to wait until just before you choose your next play. you know where you choose your play on the left but on the right there is the window for replays or stats or tips. if you hit over on the right analog stick, one of the windows will tell you to press the right analog stick down to challange the play. it took me a few times to figure how to challange plays. i hope this helps you out.

All the above is true for the most part, but another thing I have noticed (and this is true for past years, too) if they play an instant replay for you automatically and you watch it to see if he was in or out, THEN decide to challenge, the game won't let you. Simple as that. So once you disagree with a call, skip through the replay if it automatically come up, then check your pause menu.

Are you sure you didn't try to challenge it during the two-minute warning cause if you tried it that way the only the booth can review. I don't know why it would do that. i never had that happen to me but i have it for PS2 not PS3 or XBOX360.
