Ive read all of the papers about it and Ive been on it for 5 months now. In the last month I feel absolutely awful! I have cramps so bad I cant stand up sometimes. They told me it was possible to have cysts that would hurt so I don't know if that's it or what. But I have symptoms like I was pregnant but everyone has told me its nearly impossible to get pregnant. I have an appointment tomorrow, but I'm wondering if anyone has had the same experiences on the mirena.

  1. I've only been on it since May.  I bleed most of the first month with mild cramping throughout the month.  The next month I had a nearly normal period, but it was lighter than usual.  The next month, I had no period, but I did get period-like cramps.  I also had unusual spotting the other day with some slight cramping, but the spotting warranted no pantie liner because it only lasted less than a day and was very light.  So, my cramping hasn't been bad, but it has existed.  I also had some other mild pregnancy symptoms, but nothing too severe.  So, I guess I experienced a VERY mild form of what you did.  Everyone's different and throwing extra hormones into your body will change how you feel.

  2. i too had the mirena, I got it back in June of 07. by december i was cramping so bad and had some pain in the v****a. I talked w my dr and he put me on the pill to keep me from cramping so bad but i still had the mirena too. By march the vaginal pain and constant cramping was so bad that i went back to the dr. He did a vaginal examine and could not feel the string so he sent me to get a ultrasound. There they found that the iud had dislodged from my uterus and had traveled some where in my abdomen. He also suspected that i might have endometriosis so i got scheduled for a laproscopy, I got it done and there they found that i did have endo and found my iud in my stomach cavity. So therefore make sure that you check for your sting monthly and if you cant feel it then go see your dr. The pain and cramping my be because you lost the iud somewhere in ur tummy.
