  1. Sounds as if you overcooked it a bit. As long as nothing was damaged or no one was hurt then you don't need to tell anyone.

If I were you I'd try to work out how and why it happened so that you don't make the same mistake again.

You see, being a good driver is not about not making mistakes. it's about how we learn from the ones we do make.

Those who are quick to call him, give the guy a break. at least he was big enough to own up

  2. no mate if you havent hit any street furniture  ie lamp posts or crash barries or hit anyone else there is no need to tell the police . its just a driver error you must of been going too fast in the wet or you have hit and oil or deisel spillage . anyways take more care and slow down on the roundabout .

  3. Only if you caused an accident. Leaving the scene of an accident is an offence.

  4. If what you say is true. Perhaps there was a diesel spillage. That combined with rain makes it like a ice rink. I would have told the police as it may have saved the next person from an accident. But then I'm a good boy.

  5. Hi

Change your name to 'Good Egg' or George Washington, with a question like that it makes me wonder if you're old enough to drive.

    Ray. West York's. U.K.

  6. If you have passed your test you should know the answer.

  7. Presuming you're asking seriously, there was no legal need to tell the police or anyone in those circumstances unless you hit something or somebody.  You might have considered telling either the police or the highways people if you felt there was oil or fuel spilled there which caused you to spin.  Other than that, it's down to you and your car.

  8. Was it front or rear wheel drive?  I am also near Portsmouth.  I have and love rear-wheel drive cars, you have to be careful in the wet, but if the rear comes around, you CONTROL it.  In front wheel drive, you area a hopeless passenger in a spin!

  9. only if you knocked down a nun

  10. No, no-one else involved, no probs. I would seriously look at my tyres. The best for the wet, and good in the dry are Goodyear Hydra-Grip.

  11. you do not need to inform the police if,,,,no one was injured,,your car did not collide with anything,,ie bus stop, telegraph pole, cat, dog whatever all reportable accidents,

the question you should be asking in why it happened,,,will it happen again,

    is my car roadworthy,

have i got bald/over inflated tyres,

or was i driving too fast for the prevailing conditions,

do i know what "aqua planing"is,

a car like a motorcycle is a machine it does exactly what the driver tells it to do!

what you should be doing is reviewing your driving habits to ensure it doesnt happen again with more serious consequences,

passing your driving test doesnt mean you can drive,

it means the examiner thinks you are capable of becoming an experienced driver without being accompanied

  12. As long as you didnt damage anything you will be ok.No need to call the cops or anything. Call it a learning experiance.h**l i bet it shook you. Been there n done that [ he says ruefully]. not a nice experiance. It sounds like you aquaplaned. The only advice i would give is that you are a tad more carefull. But i guess you know that now.

  13. People like you shouldn't be allowed in cars.
