I don't like McCain very much, but at least you can go to his website and find out his positions without signing up first.

  1. http://www.ontheissues.org/Barack_Obama....

Obama on the issues, and you don't have to pay to view them.

  2. I don't believe you do.  The "sign up" screen appears first, but you can bypass it.

I do think the web site design should be changed.

  3. Why bother? Tomorrow his stances will be different!

  4. you don't. It asks you to sign up when you first go on the site but you can skip it.

  5. There's a "skip signup" button.  The first time I went to his site, early in the primary season, I didn't see it (don't know if it was there and I missed it, or if it was added later), but I was able to get taken off of their spam list.

  6. I made the mistake of visiting Hillary's website for research and was required to "sign in" to get information, which I foolishly did.  I am STILL getting emails soliciting donations from her organization.  In my opinion, they only want a mailing list and do not want to actually give out any facts about their positions.

  7. You don't have to sign up.  Look carefully and you'll find the link to bypass the first page.

The reason he'd like you to sign in is so that he can get in touch with you and keep connected with his supporters.  I really wouldn't be frustrated by this, he's just running a smart campaign.  There isn't a candidate alive who has much of a chance of winning an election without figuring out who their supporters are and then getting them involved.

And as for McCain, keep in mind that he's the Republican candidate.  His backers are probably more wealthy meaning they can donate more money and have more free time to volunteer for him.  He doesn't need to rally as many people since he'll have steady and consistent support.

And this doesn't just apply to McCain or Obama.  The money/volunteer disparity is the same for Democrats and Republicans across the country.  If you represent working class people(as the Dems traditionally do) they just don't have the time and resources to get involved politically.  So you have to get creative(and sometimes pushy) in order to make things happen.

  8. because Obambi's positions change so often, he wants to make sure you get all the updates!

  9. You don't have to sign-up. There's a link you can click to bypass the sign-up. I think they may have it up that way because they're elite snobs who only want literate people accessing their web page.

  10. so they can solicit you for donations and send you e-mail after e-mail after e-mail

    snake

  11. Obama must make his website for public so that people will have a free access for viewing only.
