On PokerStars: What is 'Timebank'?

I just signed up to PokerStars, and have been playing with "Play Money". When someone isn't responding, it brings up a thing on the chat board that says "Time Bank Has Been Activated". What does this mean?

Time Bank is a way of giving players extra time to use when faced with difficult decisions. This keeps the game running smoothly by stopping a player from stalling or playing extra slowly.

When it's your turn, once you take most of your normal allotted time to act, a TimeBank button appears. If you want more time to think, click the TimeBank button and you get more time, up to your total time bank limit for the tournament (usually 120 seconds).  

You can view your total available Time Bank balance by clicking the Info tab.

everyone has a time bank if you are taking to long or disconnect     you get extra time.  You only have so much time tho so once u run out u dont get any more for a while
