On Renault Scenic 1998 reg. manual gearbox: what prevents 3rd gear from engagement while put reverse on?

I have dismantled manual gearbox of 98reg. Renault Scenic to replace release bearing bracket and assembled it back. Now while I am trying to put reverse on I am getting stuck in 3rd gear and still can put reverse on.

you may have the shifter linkage back on the wrong way ,check that ,it may be out of alignment,that will cause one to do that,i hope you didn't take the entire gear box apart,those are kind of complicated to work on and can cause many problems if not put back together the right way,good luck.

Yeah... that would do it.  A tranny is not something that you can just take apart and then put together.  There are so many ways thing can go wrong.
