On Star Trek TNG, what is supposed to be in the frame behind the bartender in Ten-Forward?

If you are sitting at the bar and facing the bartender, it would be directly behind them on the wall. It looks like some kind of rock. Does it have a name? Is there something special about it?

  1. It looks like it was a mural that represented the milky-way galaxy. It was desgined by Rick Sternbach. I posted the link where I found it.
