On a Budget: Best Island Vacation?

I have my flight ticket covered to any location in the Caribbean, so that's cool.

But am 19yrs old, on a budget, wanting to be for 4-5 days.

Best island for me to visit?

I wanna have a good time and save money.

St. Lucia? Jamaica?

I wanna head out early May.

St Maarten is the best choice for you. Beautiful beaches, clubs, casinos, nightlife. Great food, friendly locals.

Dominican Republic is another great island for you. Check out the Puerto Plata area for the best night life.

It has to depend on what your interests are of travel, i.e. nightlife.

Do research and compare which island has the most to your interests, for example, St. Lucia about nature while Jamaica about partying and such.

My favourite is Barbados - Great nightlife, friendly locals, water activities (diving/snorkelling, surfing, sailing), easy to get around, cheap local transportation (route taxis, yellow mini buses & big blue ones for $1.50 BDS each way). Its capital is known for duty-free shopping although not all places do that. Another thing, it does offer nature/hiking. ;)
