is that referring to a full 12-month year or an academic year? and what courses are best to take for teaching english? i was considering doing a weekend course that lasted a month, but i heard somewhere that that will land you crappy jobs. is this true? what's the best options and where can you find some good info on teaching english? gracias, amigos (i made a funny)

  1. Generally, schools will want you for an academic year so as to follow the school calendar, but sometimes, they have sessions starting and ending constantly, so they might actually mean an actual year. You'll have to check for specifics.

    The CELTA is good, as well as a TESOL Certificate. Many Education Programs offer a Teaching TEFL course that lasts one semester/quarter and is also offered in summer for 3-5 weeks. Research your local university or college to see what they offer.

    I'd first check with the place you want to teach to see what they require before signing up for anything.
