  1. 2  dual motors will get you faster exelleration from stop . but a single motor has less drag in the water once up to speed.

  2. There is a pro and con to this.   Usually,  when you are looking for speed,   you try to keep the weight down as much as possible.  One 300 hp motor weighs far less than two 150 hp motors,  however,  the two 150's  will give you a quicker response when you open the throddle because of the twin props but at the same time,  it has got to overcome that extra weight that you would not have with just a single 300 hp.  Its really a darn if you do and darn if you dont situation.   There is one upside though,   with the dual motors,   if you loose one of them to a mechanical problem,  you still have the other to get you to shore,  you just wont be able to go as fast.

  3. That's a good question! I couldn't really give you a straight answer, although I have over 20 years experience in the marina business. If you think about it, a single 300 weighs less than a couple 150's. A lot less...but, two 150's are going to have, essentially, a lot more thrusting power because of the two propellers vs. the single prop. I want to say a couple 150's may be just a tad quicker, especially off the line, but I'm still not completely sure. I just felt like thinking about it and answering. Good Luck!!
