I'm not sure if I'm going to go to this college, but I want to be sure to get all the information I need to make that decision. What should I ask? Is there anything I should be sure to see or do?

I asked this a few days ago, but I want more answers!

  1. Look at the dorms... ask about student life (what activities are there, what opportunities; studying abroad? what majors)... talk to the students, ask what they like and don't like about the school... try to see the entire campus, ask about the professors (are the good, interactive) ask about the size, and the dorms

  2. If you're planning to live on-campus, then you should try to get into the dorms.  Check out the library.  As previously mentioned, don't be afraid to ask random students some questions, but try to pick students who are sitting on the quad or in the eateries, as opposed to people who are running off to class.  If you're planning to visit during the school year Monday - Friday, which I highly encourage as opposed to the summer and weekends, you should ask the admissions office if you can sit in on a class or two.  If you give them advance notice, many admissions offices will do their best to accommodate you.

Some things you may want to ask about: why they chose this school; what they like most about it; what they like the least about it; what the social life is like; what the area surrounding campus is like; what classes are like; what students do on the weekends; whether or not you should bring your car; if they could change one thing about their school, what would it be and why.

  3. Well, it really depends on the type of college your looking at. R u staying on campus? If so, you need to pick which dorm you want...coed or non? Then you probably want to locate the buildings most related to your major or intended major. If you're gonna be on campus its a great idea to find and utilize things such as the food locations and recreation center if you like to work out or play sports. Hope this helps!

  4. dont be afraid to stop a random student and ask how he likes it, just keep it short.
