  1. Does the phone actually tell you that its recommended?

I wouldn't worry! It just means the battery will hold more charge. The only thing it will do is make your phone stay charged for longer. It shouldn't cause any damage to the phone. They have components inside called resistors that limit the amount of current that can flow into the circuit. Don't go too far over its recommended mAh though.

Voltage is more likely to cause damage, make sure its the same voltage.

I find it extremely unlikely that your phone would become damaged, but if it was to become damaged, don't blame me! =] Ive seen people put higher mAh battery's into phones and gadgets to make them stay on longer and nothing ever happened, as far as I know.

  2. Shouldn't cause any problems at all, it's the voltage that's the most important aspect, the mAh refers to the capacity, e.g. the higher the mAh, the longer it will hold the charge before having to be recharged.

    Hope that helps.

  3. If the battery voltage is the same and it fits the case, then i should be fine. It might take a little longer to charge and last longer before going flat.

However, if the type of battery is marked differently from the original then don' mix types. For example if the original battery was a Ni-Cad, don't replace it with a Ni-Mh or Lithium battery. The chargers for each type are different and there is a slight chance of fire or explosion when charging, expecially if you use a lithium battery in a device designed for Ni-Cad or Ni-Mh batteries.
