  1. They do have a cut of the pre paid tips.

    They also have high salaries.

    They are considered management and often have "officer status" like any other management position, such as Salaon Manager, Photo Manager, Shop Manager etc.

    They have their own cabins.

    They report directly to the F&B manager, who in turn reports to the Hotel Director.

  4. The maître d' is in charge of the ships restaurant, he assigns the passengers seating arrangements, controls the service of the meals and ensures that everything runs smoothly. He is normally at, or near to, the door of the restaurant to meet and greet the passengers.
