  1. yes the only problem is that it wil cost something like $9.99 per minute with the cruise phone so that card will be gone in minutes if not seconds....better off using a cell phone quickly and paying the 1-2$ roaming charges

  2. it will be cheaper if you buy one before you leave that way you will def have one too

  3. Yes. It's cheaper.

  4. yes

  5. No, I was just on a cruise and you had to use your sea pass card to call, which, later on (at the end of the cruise), you have to pay for it.  If I was you, I would just forget about computer and phone, that is, unless you have a money tree in your backyard.  Than again, all cruises are different, so I would go to the cruise line's web-site and ask.

  6. Don't use the phones on the ship!

My sister was checking her voicemail on a Carnvial cruise and she racked up a $150.00 bill the first night.

Only call home from the phones you find in the ports.  You can purchase phone cards to do so.

  7. The cruse phone is a flat rate no matter what.  If you're going to use a calling card you would use it at a pay phone when you dock at your different stops.

  8. You cannot do that.  The ship-to-shore phones do not work like that.  It costs around $10 per minute for either incoming or outgoing calls.  Naturally, your cell phone will not work since there are not cell towers at sea.

Buy an international calling card and use it at the ports you visit.  Use the Internet cafes while in port.  The Internet charges are miniscule compared to the ship rates.
