  1. first try a back jump tuck. then do your backdive but jump the highest you can. then try a back dive in the tuck position. do it like your regular back dive jump the higest you can tuck then come out of the tuck and drop it in. once you have mastered the back dive tuck just hold on to your tuck and you will have a back flip :] this is what a back dive tuck looks like:

  2. Hopefully, you're working with a coach, who should be able to tell you how to do a back dive tuck, or pike, etc.  It's not a good idea to be trying new dives without supervision.

  3. jump out then flip over really fast and tuck in. make sure you jump out or you will hit your head on the board and make sure you get height or you will belly flop.

  4. idk but when u do a back dive before u hit da water jus flip on  back

  5. I can very succesfully do a backflip and a back dive. What you need to do is instead of falling backwards like a back dive you need to jump up and off of the board and fling your arms back. You may find yourself almost doing a backwards 1 and a half which is what i did the first time i tried. But trust me you'll get it

  6. Tuck your legs in

You're flipping underwater because you're diving wrong

  7. I have no idea. I had diving lessons as a child, learned to do a back dive from the pool side and from a low board, and then perfected a back flip from there. It is simply a matter of confidence and rotation. I once did not jump far enough backwards into the pool, and smashed my forehead against the concrete edge, though I had finished the flip first.

If you are on a board there should be more than enough time to spin at least through 360 degrees. If you are bouncing on the board, stop, and try to do the flip from a standing start. This will give you an idea of how much spin you need to put into the jump, once that is perfected, try adding a small bounce, then increase it. With a good bounce, you should soon be able to do one and a half turns, and enter the water hands first after one and a half rotations. I never managed this as we moved towns, the lessons stopped, as did the daily trips to a pool.

Good luck- it's a great thing you do. I now live in Cornwall, and have done some cliff jumping and diving, which is thrilling. All the best...

  8. Just forget about it.

    Only dolphins can do that!
