On a golf club what does "bounce" mean? such as 7 bounce 13 bounce etc.?

  1. The bounce is the angle - amount - of the bump on the back of the wedge.  The higher the bounce, the bigger the flange is on the back.  A high bounce will prevent the club from digging into the ground.  That is good when the ground / sand is hard, but bad if the ground / sand is soft.  

    I looked at our sand here, and decided to go with a 10 degree bounce, instead of a 14 degree bounce on my sand wedge.  That may not be a good solution for courses with fluffy soft sand traps.  

    So decide what to get based on where and how you play.
