On a handy mark, Frontier Dancer making plenty of appeal in Wincanton’s Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Silver Buck Handicap Chase
Off an attracted mark on comeback from a break of six months, Frontier Dancer looks really interesting in Weatherbys Hamilton Insurance Silver Buck Handicap Chase (Jockey Club Grass Roots Series Qualifier), to be hosted by Wincanton on Thursday, December
06, 2012.
The 8-year-old usually goes well when fresh. He was an impressive winner on his previous seasonal return back in November 2011. In the Pearns.co.uk Putting Patients First Handicap Hurdle at Ffos Las, Lawney Hill’s horse travelled very well to take a narrow
triumph over the 4-1 favourite, Caddie Master. The son of New Frontier ran a few fine races after that, but remained winless.
Owned by Jump For Fun Racing, the bay gelding is facing no easy task. A line-up of four high-profile rivals is all set to spoil his party. Nevertheless, an attractive mark on his return makes him the best option for betting.
Over a distance of three miles, one furlong and 110 yards, the contestants will be pursuing a prize of £3,249. The class- 4 meeting is scheduled to begin at 14:10 GMT. Plein Pouvoir and Goring One are possibility the biggest dangers to Frontier Dancer, with
Nenuphar Collonges and Massini Sunset needing to improve.
Formerly a useful runner, Nenuphar Collonges pulled up on comeback from a long vacation. It is hard to expect him to thrive in this contest. The Liam Corcoran-trained has not tasted success since November 2008.
Plein Pouvoir is the biggest threat to Frontier Dancer. Off 1lb higher, the 9-year-old was runner-up in a similar contest here in May, and should be given respect on that form. The Venetia Williams-trained wasn’t disgraced on his last start at Chepstow,
where he ended up fifth on the table. Goring One found at least one too strong at Folkestone last time. Anna Newton-Smith’s trainee certainly has a role to play.
Massini Sunset has won off this mark before, but needs to bounce back. After sharing the podium on his comeback, the 12-year-old completely lost his direction, and finished ninth in a disappointing way last time out. We wish the best of luck to all the contenders.
