  1. i know. i saw this on the news thirty minutes ago. i'm so sad. i can't believe this. i came straight online to see if there was more news, but there isn't. i'm sooooooooooo sad for his family.

you know when you think something bad couldn't happen to make your day any possibly worse than hearing about all the c**p going on and then bam another one.

    R.I.P. Luc!!!

makes it hit home about how not to take your life for granted you know. doesn't matter how young your are, it could happen to you.

omg. his sister id'd his body. ****. this is really brutal. and another person i think died/got injured too. ugh!

i know 288. my mind is still trying to process this. i mean and after all the motorcycle & car accidents all in a freakin row with all the stupid teens memorial day weekend, and even after. this week has really been awful in this country. where'd you see the news 288...i was trying to watch a movie and i switched to cp24 and bam 2 oclock top of the hour news. there's nothing on any of the sports channels.

mr & mrs snyder are the best people ever. i cried too when he died. too many people dying. RIP Luc. RIP Danny.

  2. What shocking and tragic news.  My sympathy goes out to his family, team, and friends.

  3. that's horrible, I'll be keeping his family and friends in mind.

  4. tabarnak LITY i'm speechless .. was in Shipaggan over the Christmas holidays while visiting my brother and his girlfriend in Bathurst (whom as you probably know is still mourning the loss of many of the basketball players from one of their high schools)

rest in peace and may God be with you and your family Luc .. reste en paix Luc et que Dieu sois avec toi et ta famille

  5. Very sad. RIP

  6. Very, very sad.

Ah, that's the one JoeB. I couldn't remember his name, had it on the tip of my toungue.

  7. Yeah, no kidding. I was shocked when I saw that a few minutes ago.

  8. thats so sad :(

  9. Just read about it. Unbelieveable.

This seems to be a pattern in hockey. Heck, the list is long. Let's not forget Pelle Lindbergh

  10. Wow... this is tragic.  Such a bright future taken away.

  11. That sucks, and not just because he was a hockey player.  Any young person to die like that is a tragedy.

    My sympathies to his family.

  12. Very sad but don't forget Dan Snyder as well.

  13. Very tragic. Things like these always seem to happen to the good.

Travis Roy might have been a good NHL player.

None Profound - Yea, there are many choices though, things like these are too common.

  14. i would like to see Valery Kharlamov play in the NHL he died not young but a brutal car accident in Soviet Union back then they say some NHL club wanted to sign him but never did

  15. As a lifelong Penguins fan, I would love to have seen Michel Briere play a full career.  Mortally wounded in a car crash in 1970, Briere led the Pens to the franchise's first playoff series victory as a rookie.  He was (I've been told) Mario Lemieux long before Mario ever came along.  Maybe not the gifted player, but a difference-maker who may have kept the franchise from obscurity and incompetence in the many years prior to 66's arrival in 1984.

Terrible news about Luc Bourdon.  My prayers are offered for him and his family.

PS - I add to your list Yanic Dupre, former Flyer who succombed to cancer some years back.

  16. Thats so sad. Only the Good Die Young :(

  17. Always a crying shame to hear something like this.

  18. God Bless him and his family.

  19. HeavySoviet: Travis Roy immediately came to my mind as well.

  20. That sucks.  Worst hockey tragedy I remember was the Vlady Konstantinov accident that resulted in his career ending injuries.  Vlady was my favorite player in the NHL back then and I hated to see that happen to him :(  I actually cried when they wheeled Vlady out on the ice when they won the cup again in 1998.

  21. God, I hate hearing these stories.  Pelle played too many games to qualify for not having a career but I remember that story like it was yesterday.

I will bring Bill Masterton to the table for another player who was taken too early and his accident was in a hockey game.  I believe he had only played 20-30 NHL game.  LITY, you would know better than us whether the four Swift current players who were killed when the team bus crashed had the potential for a career, but it is another example of your question.  Jordan Tootoo's brother is another tragic story.

There are way too many answers to this question.  I will be saying a few prayers for Bourdon and his family.

  22. :(... that's awful.

  23. Wow.....that's tragic.

At that age you don't even begin to know what life is truly about.

  24. Such a shame a terrible waste. God bless his family.

If you imagine all the hockey players tragically lost over the years what a team they would make. Stanley cup champions of the sky :)

    R.I.P boys.

  25. That really sucks. I am sorry for his family and friends and fans. Holan would be my answer
