  1. Laminate is usually nicer. And the odds of finding a non-laminate M44 are bad. So laminate it is.


  2. Laminated adds about $30 to the value...but they aren't exactly collectors items yet so take that for what its worth.

    If you're talking in terms of what holds up better to the elements you can just get a regular stock and treat it in your basement with modern polyurethane sealer and it'll be just as good as laminated.

  3. Laminated are worth a little more and are much stronger than one carved from a single piece of wood.  

  4. Not sure what you mean by "better". As in is it more durable to have the laminated stock? Then yes, it's basically strips of plywood glued together. That is a very rigid design.

    Is it more collectible? Yes again but will only increase value a little bit.

    What will make the rifle hold it's value best is if you just LEAVE IT ALONE. Don't try to "improve" the rifle, leave it original. Keep it clean and oiled and enjoy it for what it is.
