i just wanted to know if on a newer car (1990's) can you take the full frame off the car like on a older 1970's

  1. It would have helped if you were specific about what year make and model of car you are working on. Most actually do have full sub frames from the front bumper under the engine transmission cradle to just behind the firewall.  


  2. most newer cars do not have a full frame on it anymore, they are mostly referred to as "uni-body" and they have an engine cradle bolted to the body of the car, and that's your car

  3. ok your talking about taking the body off that chassis and no odds are it wont come apart as easily as the old one did because now the body's are made of multiple parts not just 1 or 2

  4. Not many have frames there 1 piece bodys but if they have a frame than it can come off>  

  5. it would really depend on the car, but i believe that on most cars, not trucks and SUVs, that there usually isn't a frame (in the 90's). it's a part of unibody construction, it's incorporated into the body itself, likely to save weight.

  6. they dont have frames....its a unibody
