i know that you can have a tasty raw meal that consists of more than fruits and veggies b/cuz you can sear meat w/out killing off all the enzymes... but i was doing some research on a couple of steakhouses and their menus, and pretty much like half of the choices are seared...

so i guess my question is, if it is seared does that necessarily mean it is "raw" (not 100% raw, just enough so that the digestive enzymes arent destroyed)?

what are some tips on ordering when they ask, "how would you like your steak?"

any other tips on dining out while staying MOSTLY raw (not 100%) are appreciated too.. thanks =D

  1. order steak tartar with a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, some fruit and cheese and if needed, a tossed green salad.

  2. as a former waitress in a steakhouse a customer who wanted seared would ask for extra extra rare  and the cook would lay the meat on the grill wait 2-3 seconds and then turn it over and do the same thing and then serve but you should also check with the restaurant about it seeing how strict the laws have become regarding food served in public places

  3. You could order Steak Tartare.  It's not cooked at all.  It's chopped with raw bell pepper, onion, etc,  molded into steak form & served raw.

Call around beforehand & see who has it.

  4. here's a helpful resource for finding restaurants that serve vegetarian/vegan/raw food menus. not sure about the steak thing --i'll let someone more knowledgeable than i am tackle that:
