w/ 10 being "extremely common" & 1 being "not common at all"...

I'm 3 months pregnant. If I have a girl, I may name her Alicia. I'm just wondering if it's a very common name... I normally try to avoid common names.

  1. 5-- it is not too common but it is not unheard of either.i think its a pretty name, maybe

    Alicia Rose??? good luck!

  2. Alicia is certainly not common among new babies and young children! The only Alicia's I have known are over 25- and there have not been a lot of them! She would definitely not be one of several in her class or even school. In fact...none of my four kids have ever gone to school with one and in all my years of child care and teaching I haven't had one either!

  3. Probably a 5, I grew up knowing a lot of girls named Alicia and then I met more of them in college.

    I like the name though.

  4. 2.....used to be common in the 70's and 80's and has since dropped off in popularity some. Very pretty name and there won't be tons of them. I have always loved the name Alicia :)

  5. 8-but that's counting different spellings-Alisha,Alicia etc and it depends how you pronounce it

  6. 10!!! wait....100...My mom's name is Alicia. My best friends mom is named Alicia. its WAY common

  7. 4-5...it's kind of common but not in today's time really.  People seem to be on a kick, naming their kids whatever dumbass **** they can think up.

  8. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, because although Alicia is a cute name, it is EXTREMELY common. I would say a 7 or an 8.

    How about names like these?

    Octavia

    Ophelia

    Arella

    Ariel

    Ardelle

    Chastity

    Chloe

    Hope it helps!

There were 4 Alicia (Alisha) in my grade. I am 22. I think it has slacked off in popularity over the past years but it is still a really pretty name. I like it when it is pronounced Alise-e-a instead of A-leash-a.

  10. I'd say its about a 5. Good luck and congrats! :o)

  11. Probably around a 4.  It isn't so common that your kid will know 20 other girls named Alicia.  But it also not so uncommon that no one will know how to pronounce it and she won't be made fun of.  Good choice, it's a pretty name.

  12. i would say about a 6.

  13. I only know one Alicia and she is my age. It's better than the 100+ 30 year old Brittanys I know. None of them like their name...they wonder what their mothers were thinking.

    EMT

  14. 5

  15. hmm...4.5

    hope i helped!

  16. 3

  17. I only have known one girl named Alicia. It is a very pretty name, and I don't think it's very common, although well-known. In the past 50 years, it was most common in 1984, and ranked #40 in the U.S with the SSA (Social Security Administration). As of 2007, it was #180, the least common it had ever been since 1962. I think you are safe in naming your baby girl this and not having many (if any) duplicates around.

  18. i would rate it about a 2. i work in a preschool, and in the last 8 years, i have not had even one Alicia, and i have 65 students a year.

  19. 4

  20. I don't think it is is that common.  Maybe a 4?  It is very pretty.

  21. 8

  22. 7

  23. I'd say 7 or 8. Only because I grew up with a lot of Alicia's from kindergarten through high school.

  24. It's about a 5 as being common.  Alicia is a very pretty name!!

  25. I'm 16, and I don't know any Alicia besides Silverstone. lol I think it is a very pretty name however, but I'd say it's maybe a 3, taking into consideration your child will be born a little over 17 years after me.

  26. Hmm...

I would say 6. About. I have heard it a lot of that name in the past few months. Alicia Keys, Alicia from the Baby Borrowers, etc.

But that doesn't make me like it any less! :) I love that name and I think that it would be a perfect name for a little girl.
