On a scale of 1-10, how much bullsh*t is it that you can fight and vote at 18, but can't drink?

I don't need any foreigners telling me how their 18 and can legally drink. Don't rub it in guys. Oh, and give reasons as to why you choose whatever number you choose.

They were given the chance in the 70's and screwed it up royaly.

The BS number is 9 or 10. The government will put a loaded gun in your hand but not a beer. This question has been asked many times by the last 2 generations because it makes absolutely no sense!

Drinking is a privilege that your government extends to you at the age they deem reasonable.  They do not ask you.   Your future was decided some time ago and you were not consulted.

Actually I think that alcohol should be illegal if weed is.

However too many corporations stand to lose $$$.

I went to both Mets Phillies games & witnessed a total of

5 groups of people get tossed from the games, just in my general seating area over 2 nights all of them sh*t-faced.

Alcohol is overrated. What is the big deal? It causes more harm than good. What do you do? you drink, get buzzed & make an @ss of yourself in most cases.

As far as law goes it's insane though. I agree with you on these terms.

Personally i don't think you should drink, drive, fight in wars, or vote until you're an employed, & taxed citizen. if that age is 18 ok, if it's 21

1, because before the mid 80's you could drink on military installations but do to M.A.D.D. that got changed.  So take up your problem with them.  In terms of voting I fail to see that just because you can vote you should be able to legally consume alcohol.

Just because you want to drink does not mean you have the maturity to do so responsibly.

Another thing you need to pay attention to is the drastic reduction in the drunk-driving fatality rates that occurred after the drinking age was raised to 21.

How many human lives is it worth to you to allow 18 year olds to drink?
