Are we really so cheap that we can't spring for some seatbelts for the kids? If that bus gets into a serious wreck those kids are going to go flying and get seriously hurt, while the driver make not get hurt at all since he or she has a seatbelt.

  1. So while they're driving they don't fly out of the seat of a moving vehicle if they have to swerve, because what's in front of them isn't a padded seat, becuase if there is a wreck they're often the only adult in the vehicle.

  2. If the driver is injured or falls out of his seat then many children may be in peril.

You are correct though, all passengers on a school bus should have seat belts and be made to wear them./

  3. Apparently the driver is more important than the children.

  4. I've learned that you are somewhat right about kids going flying, but it really takes a big crash to do that. One of my previous schools had a bus wreck on the highway, and hardly any kids got more than bruised. When the bus takes a head on impact, the students/passengers just slam into the seat ahead of them which I've noticed are usually soft(ish.) The bus driver gets a seat belt because, if the bus was to take a head on collision, the bus driver would get sent threw the window. Yes, if the bus got hit on the side and rolled over, or fell over a hill, the passengers would be everywhere, but what are the odds of rolling a bus over? If the bus got hit in the back, everyone would just fling backward, into their seat. Hit head on, they would hit the seat in front of them. Hit on the side, the kids would go to the opposite window of where the vehicle hit the bus. The only time you would be in serious danger, without flipping, is if a passenger was out of their seat, walking, in the aisle, or sitting on the floor. This is why we have bus rules, usually.
