Question:

On a visitors visa to the US, can a tourist travel outside of the continental 50 states, to the Virgin Islands

for example.I looked at both the USCIS and the Homeland Security websites but cannot find the visa regulations information. Please help.

  1. Yes you may.  The U.S. Virgin Islands are   another "part " of the U.S. and you may travel there just like you may travel to  Hawaii or Alaska.  You may also make short trips to Canada or Mexico while visiting the U.S. on a tourist visa. The time on your I-94 does not change or start over when you make any of these little trips.


  2. Yes you may travel to the USVI, Puerto Rico, Guam, or any of the other territories of the U.S. But just make sure that if you go to these places your plane does not have you going to any other countries to get  to these territories.
