Also, how big of a difference will you notice with S-Video cables or Composite cables?

  1. Basically it's:

    Component > RGB (Scart) > S-Video > Composite

    With S-Video you have two different composite signals .... one for luminance and one for colour.

    For normal use Composite isn't all "that" bad, but if you use a high quality CRT TV you may very well notice a significant difference. However the shielding of the cables and the quality of the component / S-Video out on the playback device also have an influence on the results. If you have to / want to use composite video make sure you don't use the cheapest cable and keep it as short as possible.


  2. S-video is a little better but you won't see a big difference.
