  1. What kind of inspection?

  2. You've got poeple confused, search warrant or home inspection

  3. They can look in, check for any damage, etc but they aren't supposed to snoop through your personal belongings.

  4. Not without your permission.  They can only view the general area which is open to view.  They can have access to all rooms though, but cannot go through your belongings.

  5. What kind of agent?  If you're referring to a real estate agent, they might look in closets to get a general idea of how much closet space there is.  They shouldn't be opening drawers, etc.  I've bought four houses and sold three, and I've never seen one do anything beyond that.

  6. They can't go through your stuff but they can open them to make sure there is no rubbish or anything like that stacked up in them and that they are relatively clean.

  7. Hi, I just spoke to a friend who works at a real estate, and no they are not allowed to go through your wardrobes / cupboards, unless you have stated that their is a problem with a certain thing/s .  This is an invasion of privacy, and they can get into trouble.

How dare they, they have not right.

    Good luck on this matter.

    Min :-)

  8. It depends what they are inspecting

  9. yes they can, with permission or a warrant

  10. Id stay in my house during the inspection.

  11. They cannot go through your personal belongings eg bed drawers etc

but they can go through the fixtures eg. Built in wardrobe

  12. The agent can only touch things that are attached to the house, such as doors etc.

  13. Agents don't care about things like that it seems. Last week we had one come unannounced while my wife was in the bath (yes... not kidding) with clients in tow. I'm sure there are all kinds of laws but they can get off on a technicality. If you feel violated, say something.
