Also, what makes a realtor want to change companies and what do you think is the best way to get someone to make a change/recruit?

  1. Be cautious of hopping from agency to agency.  Remember it also means that your client base will have to follow (find) you. When buyers are anxious to purchase they may not want to search for you. All of the marketing materials have to be changed which can become expensive. Franchise fees are also costly.  I work for an independently owned office and we are able to better control our expenses vs. paying out franchise fees and office fees.

  3. There’s no average length.

    As for recruiting an agent, you have to be an all around better company. You’d have to pay for more marketing & materials, provide more leads, have a better reputation, better education programs and a higher commission split than the agent’s current one.
