  1. I'm not sure on any exact number, but it is a pretty handsome amount.

  2. Professional MUSICIANS don't make all that much money and that includes pianists.  The performing arts are NOT BIG PAYING PROFESSIONS... people don't do it for the money, but for the love of it.

When I have been playing pure piano gigs, I've made anywhere from just doing it for the tips to several hundred dollars a night or more for concerts.  I have found I can make more money with my guitar than with a piano, but I do have a keyboard that does half the work for me.

  3. It depends on how you define "professional." Those big time concert pianists probably make $100,000 plus...if you make it to the big time. However, I once saw that the average professional musician (this includes polka bands and such) make about $8,000-$12,000 a year. I know at least one Julliard graduate who now works at a flower shop!

  4. There are too many variables... gigs can pay anywhere from $50 to thousands of dollars. It all depends on where you live, competition, the style of music, etc...

You can make a living at it, but you probably won't get rich at it.

  5. well watch 2 and a half men. charlie sheen, haha, plays the piano and is really rich

    otherwise im not sure
