  1. The pools have filtration units and if you notice there are grids in the side walls and the bottom. If you put your hands/feet over them, you will notice that water is coming in and being sucked out. These are to take out and put in water 24/7. Therefore it is being cleaned all the time and no replacement is necessary

  2. Good question especially if you swallow a large gulp by accident! All those cheesy feet with bunions n crusty toe nails, unwashed hair and unwashed parts thrashing around in the water.. Jeeze so glad I don't go swimming too often

  3. Usually once per few years 3 maybe 4.the water is kept clean by filtration for dirt and chlorine or ozon as a anti-spetive.

  4. it usually isnt. unless there is some sort of really bad bacteria or something in the pool that will cause a health hazard they dont replace the water. this is because they would have to completely drain the water from the pool and then refill it. its just not practical.

dont worry though. its not like the water just sits there getting nasty. most indoor pools have a filtration system that constantly pulls dirty water into filters and pushes cleaned water into the pool. some pools also have ozone to help keep the water clean. and dont forget the chemicals. there is almost always enough chlorene in the water to kill anything that is dirty (providing the staff at the pool regularly checks chems.)

  5. Never , indeed competitive swimmers like to swim older pools as the water gets 'softer' over the years so therefore swim times can be that millisecond faster , the fastest times outside of the Olympics are usual done in older pools

  6. An indoor pool receives less pollution and dirt than their outdoor cousins.  They also receive unstabilized chlorine but depending on use their total dissolved solids will accumulate and this will dictate drainage complete or otherwise to reduce or remove the accumulation.

    You're welcome!!

  7. Never, its cleaned mechanically and with chemicals.

  8. its not, over time the water will evaporate and people will walk off with water on there bodies so the pool will be topped up from time to time but the water will not be changed unless there is a health problem with the pool and it needs draining.

chemicals are used to kill germs and stop the water from stagnating or fungus growing
