  1. This is a tough question, because a waitress wages are based on tips. Each server gets $2.13 an hour, the rest is based on what people tip you.

Also the shift you work can make a difference, if you have the good shifts like Friday and Saturday night you will make more money that you may on say Monday and Tuesday lunch shift. But the best way to max the money you make on any given shift is to take a good attitude to the job, when I waited tables I always made more money when I was in a good mood, joking with the guest, making there experience better. Also as you go on you will get better at the job and will be more organized, making it easier to take on more tables and more tables mean more money if you do it right.

A waitress can make great money or bad money, there are a lot of factors, but You are the most important factor, have a smile, enjoy what you do and make the big bucks!

  2. Depends on where you work.  My hubby is a waiter at a country club and has supported me(a stay at home mom) with two grown sons for 34 years.

We have no house payment, no car payments, no credit card debts, etc.  He was a waiter on a cruise ship( that's how I met him when I was 17).  You can make $100. a week or you can make $2000. a week, all depends on where you work, if you are well liked, and if you do a good job and are willing to kiss a**.  Also, because your earnings are not set in stone you need to set a good budget. There are many ups and downs, but you can make a good living if you are a hard worker.

  3. well it all depends on the resturaunt. if you are working at a top dollar resturaunt you could make about $400 a night. but if your working at a dennies or something dont expect any more than $360 dollars. for 30 hours.

  4. It would be easier to answer the question if you told us what type of place you are looking to work at.  Chain, Mom and Pop, or Fine Dining?  Also would you think you would work more lunch shifts or dinner shifts?  Maybe a breakfast place?  From my experinece Dinner shifts closer to the weekend (including Friday and Sat night) are the best.  You should easily be able to make $100 on a Friday night or Sat night at a chain type resteraunt that serves alchohol.  Approx $50-$70 or even more on a wend-thursday night dinner shift at a chain.

  5. A lot will depend on what state or country you live in, what the base pay is, what kind of restaurant it is, if they serve alcohol, etc. Your tips will depend on these variables as well.
